Following the release of the new iPhone 16e, Apple discontinued a number of earlier iPhone models in India, including the iPhone SE (3rd Gen), iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus. With major improvements like a USB Type-C port and an A18 CPU with Apple Intelligence support, the most recent entry-level iPhone is the company’s most sophisticated low-cost model to date.
Apple removed the iPhone SE (2022), iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus from its official India website shortly after releasing the iPhone 16e. Although third-party merchants such as Flipkart and Amazon are still selling these versions, it is anticipated that they will soon run out of supply.
Apple had introduced:
• In March 2022, the iPhone SE (2022) will go on sale at ₹43,900.
• In September 2022, the iPhone 14 will cost ₹79,900.
• ₹89,900 for the iPhone 14 Plus.
Similar measures were taken by Apple in Europe, where it discontinued selling older models without USB Type-C connectors in order to comply with EU laws requiring a universal charging standard.
Since these models were dropped, Apple’s smartphone portfolio in India now includes:
The iPhone 15 series, iPhone 16 series, and iPhone 16e series
When the iPhone 17 series is released the following year, Apple is anticipated to discontinue the regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The 128GB model of the iPhone 16e costs ₹59,900, whereas the following storage variants cost more:
256GB costs ₹69,900.
512GB costs 89,900 rupees.
The iPhone 16e goes on sale on February 28 after pre-orders open on February 21.
Included with the smartphone are:
A18 chip (3nm) for great efficiency; 6.1-inch OLED display with 60Hz refresh rate; 48MP back camera with OIS; 12MP TrueDepth front camera; IP68 water and dust protection; and USB Type-C charging (18W wired, 7.5W wireless)
